7/26 Message “The Lawmaker, Heartbreaker: You!”

As usual, we will be meeting in person on Sunday at 11 am, and also offer this recording and text for those joining from home.

Call to Worship; James 2:8-13

If you really keep the royal law found in Scripture, “Love your neighbor as yourself,” you are doing right. But if you show favoritism, you sin and are convicted by the law as lawbreakers. 10 For whoever keeps the whole law and yet stumbles at just one point is guilty of breaking all of it. 11 For he who said, “You shall not commit adultery,” also said, “You shall not murder.” If you do not commit adultery but do commit murder, you have become a lawbreaker.

12 Speak and act as those who are going to be judged by the law that gives freedom, 13 because judgment without mercy will be shown to anyone who has not been merciful. Mercy triumphs over judgment.

19 July 2020 Sunday Message

Call to Worship; 1 Corinthians 12: 12-20

12 Just as a body, though one, has many parts, but all its many parts form one body, so it is with Christ. 13 For we were all baptized by one Spirit so as to form one body – whether Jews or Gentiles, slave or free – and we were all given the one Spirit to drink. 14 Even so the body is not made up of one part but of many.

7/12 Message “Ending the Gloom”

For those not able to come to church in person at 11 am on Sunday morning, here is recording and copy of the message.

Call to Worship; Romans 7: 14-16

14 We know that the law is spiritual; but I am unspiritual, sold as a slave to sin. 15 I do not understand what I do. For what I want to do I do not do, but what I hate I do. 16 And if I do what I do not want to do, I agree that the law is good.

21 June 2020 Sunday Message

Call to Worship: Philippians 2:1-4

Therefore if you have any encouragement from being united with Christ, if any comfort from his love, if any common sharing in the Spirit, if any tenderness and compassion, then make my joy complete by being like-minded, having the same love, being one in spirit and of one mind. Do nothing out of selfish ambition or vain conceit. Rather, in humility value others above yourselves, not looking to your own interests but each of you to the interests of the others.

Tithe, Offering, and Prayer Concerns: Good morning Father, Creator of all that is good and wholesome; Thank you! Thank you for the morning each day you grant us the opportunity to breath in the hope of a new day. Please bless our gifts and offering, and sanction our very being into service in you and for your kingdom. Amen!

7 June 20 Sunday Message; “Rich & Poor, No More”

Call to Worship Matthew 19:23-26

23 Then Jesus said to his disciples, “Truly I tell you, it is hard for someone who is rich to enter the kingdom of heaven. 24 Again I tell you, it is easier for a camel to go through the eye of a needle than for someone who is rich to enter the kingdom of God.”

25 When the disciples heard this, they were greatly astonished and asked, “Who then can be saved?”

26 Jesus looked at them and said, “With man this is impossible, but with God all things are possible.”

https://youtu.be/tsplo5vSzt0

Call to Worship: Acts 2:1-4

When the day of Pentecost came, they were all together in one place. Suddenly a sound like the blowing of a violent wind came from heaven and filled the whole house where they were sitting. They saw what seemed to be tongues of fire that separated and came to rest on each of them. All of them were filled with the Holy Spirit and began to speak in other tongues as the Spirit enabled them.                                        (Opening Prayer)

24 May 2020 Sunday Message

“Endurance; Memorialized by Prayer, and Service”

Today, as we begin our worship service, we show our reverence for all those God has placed in our lives that have made a difference in our own individual lives. These are the people who have given to you and I, and the memorial goes beyond those who have served in the military. They are all the first responders, our incredible health providers, our dedicated public servants. It’s that person in your neighborhood who is always there when you need them, and the family that have gone before us creating the life we enjoy today, and have retired for the evening awaiting the great reunion in the morning. This weekend all of us in this land are one people as we come to say thank you to a God who has blessed us richly.

Call to Worship; Psalm 116: 12-16
