For the past few days we’ve had the opportunity to open the doors of our church to a group of young adults studying, learning, serving, engaging and preparing to GO. (think “Great Commission”). About 15 young adults are involved in a 3 month YWAM DTS (Discipleship Training School) is Idaho. As part of their course they have come to Ogden where, hopefully a new YWAM base will be started in the near future.
As part of our focus on Missions–remember one of our “Core Values”, which 18 months ago was added to the list, but was pretty much ‘aspirational’ is becoming ‘actual’– the board decided that we could assist this group of young missionaries as they prepare to go to the field. We allowed them to use classroom space, helped with providing meals, and oh, by the way, they have been helpful in doing some cleaning in the basement, and assisting with reaching out to the neighborhood.
This evening they’ll be leading the chapel service at the Ogden Rescue Mission, and then spending some time interacting with the guests there.
Please join me in praying that this turns into a long term relationship.
